Do not fertilize! Sunflowers do not like fertilizer.

It’s so nice you grew flowers for your friends and neighbors to enjoy! I got a surprise poppy this year in a neglected planter. I was amazed they look so similar to the crepe ones the vets sell. I buy my vet Poppy every year but this year I didn’t see anyone out there. I must have been gifted by a bird to experience the real flower this year! 😁 Thank you for sharing! 🤗👍♥️🤍💙

I have pink and white Amphora poppy and Black Peony Poppies this year so far. All should be aware, many are opium(Papaver somniferum) producing. If you live where I do, you wouldn't get away with planting several of the breeds I have seeds for. I now live in apartment with a balcony, so I grow them on a balcony to bring on butterflies, bees etc.. Opium gum hunters and animals cannot reach them now. Last year none grew but this year I have about 15-20 sprouts. So far.

I lost a couple of desert roses during winter of 2023 but the rest of my desert roses survived being left outside. They are tough.

Never tried it myself, but I heard that Daikon radishes are great clay-soil conditioners.

So, once they are done blooming, I find that the stalks look so shabby. Do you then cut them down to the ground? I tend to do that but do you know if I cut off the pods before the seeds turn black do the seeds turn black eventually after I've cut them off from the plant? If you know what I mean?

I put ice over my seeds after sewing and poured cold water over it. Did this every other day 3 times.

Nut grass grows from a bulb that is probably 2cm under growund and they send out runners underground to form new bulbs. pulling them does nothing to get rid of them. You will need to use a sytemic poision so it will travel down into the bulb. You can use a posion wand and that way you only touch each plant.

I grow these GIANT POPPIES. Flowers are bigger than softballs!

I live in Georgia without an indoor spot with sunlight. I’m Considering trying to grow some in the basement under grow lights, at least for half the year 😬 there isn’t a lot of experience with that to be found online, so I’m hoping it works 🤞

That turned out great considering the type of soil you have. I noticed that this video was a few years ago, do they self sow themselves every year?

I think I will try collecting the seeds from my 1 red oriental papaver I started from a bare root I bought from Walmart, I had trouble starting poppies from bare roots, is it much easier to start oriental papavers from seeds vs bare roots?

I dump 1/2 a bucket of rabbit poops every year
